This modern shaped self-contained toilet is very water efficient, using 1.2/2.2L litres of water per flush. It was designed with several purposes in mind:
• For situation where there is limited space
• As a toilet that uses a minimum amount of water
• As a toilet for use with people that have physical limitations
The Macerator Toilet has no external water tank as the flushing mechanism is built in and is totally electric. After use, one presses a button on top of the bowl, this activates a timer and a solenoid valve in order to fill and wash the sides of the bowl. The motor starts and the waste and paper are sucked inside, where it is macerated and pumped away. The motor stops after approximately 15 seconds and the timer programs the refill of the bowl with fresh water.
The discharge pipe of the Macerator Toilet is 32mm in diameter; the pump operates at 7 PSI and pumps the effluent upwards to 8m vertically. The discharge pipe-work may be made with either copper or solvent welded plastic material, provided that a consistent gravity fall of 2% is maintained throughout the run.
The Macerator Toilet is a self-contained toilet with the macerator pump and an electrical activated flushing action built inside the unit. That is why the toilet can be installed in very small places. The Macerator Toilet does not depend on gravity, so it can be used where large diameter pipes cannot be used
